Pride and Prejudice

Pride and Prejudice was written by Jane Austen in the 1800s, its about young people trying to find love. Since its the 1800s, there are a lot of differences in the way they dressed, talked, socialized. However, the relationships are very similar to the relationships today. People in Jane Austen's time judged people unfairly, and people today do the same thing. For example, Mr. Bingley's sister didn't think Jane and her family were good enough for him because they didn't have that much money. We don't have those social rules today but a family might still disagree if there son wanted to marry a girl outside their culture. Another relationship that is similar today it Lydia and Wickham. Her family tried to warn her about Wickham but as most teenagers do, she thought she knew best. Its was sad because he turn out to be a bad guy. Young people today can end up the same way. People went on these journeys for lots of reasons, and some were pure and impure, according to the morals of that time. The Wife of Bath would be considered impure but she is lots of fun. She's had 5 husbands and is very proud of it. Maybe she is on this journey to look for number 6. She is very talkative and is not shy about giving advice to young lovers. Her behavior wasn't like the average woman back in the day, but her independence was inspiring. In her tale, she made up a story about a knight who rapes a girl is about have his head cut off by King Arthur. However, the queen wants to give him a second chance. He has one year to find out what woman want most. After a terrible year, he finds an ugly old woman who says she'll help him if he agrees to marry her. She tells the queen that woman most want to be able to control men...

Prologue about Me

Reading has always been a struggle for me growing up, but I have found that if I listen to an audio book while following along in the book, I understand what is going on, and I enjoy the story more than if I tried reading it on my own. My favorite genre is suspense/horror, but I also comics, such as The Walking Dead. Stephen King is one of my favorite authors, some of my favorites are Pet Sematary, It, Christine and Under The Dome. Even though I don't necessary read older stories, I'm willing to give them a try.
